Late Friday and early Saturday, authorities apprehended Dwayne O’Neal Smith and Benson Jamal Rishaud Kinney, both convicted felons, who were accused of abducting and robbing a man in Ocala, UK.
Smith was booked into the county jail on Friday night, while Kinney was captured on Saturday morning.
The charges against both men include robbery with a firearm and carjacking with a firearm, as stated by the authorities.
According to the Ocala police, the incident occurred when the victim visited a residence behind Howard Middle School on Friday. Two men approached him and forcefully took him away. The victim was held captive by the abductors who coerced him into withdrawing money.
After being released, the victim immediately reported the incident to the police, providing a description of the abductors. The suspects were identified as Smith and Kinney, prompting officers to initiate a search for them. Smith was apprehended near the school, while Kinney was found hiding at a different residence. As Kinney refused to surrender, the SWAT Team was summoned to assist in his arrest.
Following his arrest, Kinney was interviewed at the police department before being transported to the county jail.
