San Benito, Texas – A woman named Maria Cecilia Gonzalez was recently arrested by San Benito police on a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon against a family member. This arrest comes months after she allegedly beat her boyfriend with a bat. The incident in question occurred on August 2nd and Gonzalez had been evading arrest until recently.
The altercation took place at the 1400 block of Fresno Street, where Gonzalez and her boyfriend engaged in a heated argument. When the police arrived at the scene, they found the boyfriend with multiple bite marks on his back and redness all over his body. According to the victim, Gonzalez had not only punched him but had also used a bat to strike him. This led to her being charged with aggravated assault with a weapon against a family member.
When the officers attempted to apprehend Gonzalez at the residence, she refused to come out. Eventually, the police entered the premises and discovered that she had fled through the back door. Despite a search of the area that night, she could not be located.
However, on November 12th, the police were finally able to take Gonzalez into custody. She was subsequently booked into the Cameron County Jail. Her bond has been set at $75,000.
