Elvish Yadav, the winner of the Indian version of Big Brother, has been questioned by police in connection with accusations of organizing rave parties involving endangered snakes and snake venom. Yadav denies the allegations and claims to be innocent. Investigations are ongoing. Maroosha Muzaffar reported
Elvish Yadav, the popular Indian YouTuber and winner of the Indian version of Big Brother, recently faced accusations of organizing rave parties involving endangered snakes and snake venom. Police discovered snakes and venom at one of the parties, leading to the arrest of five individuals who claimed to have supplied snakes for Yadav’s events. Both Yadav and the accused individuals are now facing charges under India’s Wildlife (Protection) Act.
Although Yadav denied any involvement in the illegal activities, he was questioned by police for three hours. The police asked him about the origin of the snakes featured in his videos and why he posed with them. Despite ongoing investigations, police sources have not yet found concrete evidence linking Yadav to any drug cartel dealing with snakes.
The allegations against Yadav came from a non-profit organization run by Maneka Gandhi, an animal rights activist and member of India’s Nehru-Gandhi family. Gandhi called for Yadav’s arrest, claiming that he was the mastermind behind the snake venom drug trade. She emphasized the dangers and cruelty involved in extracting venom from snakes and stated that all the snakes used in the parties were endangered species.
Yadav, who has a massive following on social media platforms, including two YouTube channels with a combined following of over 22 million, has vehemently denied all allegations against him. He declared the accusations to be baseless and expressed his willingness to cooperate with the police. He also mentioned receiving extortion calls and messages prior to the snake venom case.
In addition to his online presence, Yadav is the founder of the Elvish Yadav Foundation, which supports underprivileged children, and owns a clothing brand called “Systumm Clothing.” However, his recent success on Bigg Boss OTT has been overshadowed by the controversy surrounding the snake venom allegations.
While the investigation into Yadav’s case continues, it is important to note that extracting venom from snakes is a punishable offense in India, and causing harm or suffering to animals can lead to legal consequences, including imprisonment. The use of snake venom as a recreational drug or substitute for other substances has been studied, with researchers noting its potential effects on users.
As the situation unfolds, Yadav remains hopeful that the truth will prevail and that these allegations will not tarnish his reputation. Despite the challenges he is currently facing, Yadav continues to entertain his millions of followers with his comedic sketches and remains committed to his charitable endeavors..
