A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his grandmother in Northern California. The suspect, Luis Aroyo-Lopez, allegedly decapitated his grandmother and fled the scene. A 23-year-old man has been taken into custody and charged with the murder of his 64-year-old grandmother in Santa Rosa, Northern California. The suspect, Luis Aroyo-Lopez, allegedly decapitated his grandmother inside her home before leaving with her head. The horrific incident was described as a “targeted attack” by investigators. Aroyo-Lopez was apprehended in San Francisco two days later after a manhunt involving U.S. Marshals.
The investigation began when officers arrived at the Santa Rosa home and discovered the gruesome scene. The victim’s head was not found at the residence, leading authorities to believe that Aroyo-Lopez had fled with it. Eventually, an officer from the San Francisco Police Department recognized the suspect from wanted person bulletins and arrested him at a downtown transit station. Aroyo-Lopez was then transferred to Santa Rosa police and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.
