WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Wichita Police Department has recently made a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation of a shooting that occurred in Old Town on October 29. The department announced the arrest of a 21-year-old male suspect, following a dramatic chase and crash that took place on Tuesday morning. The incident concluded near the intersection of East Clark Street and South Washington Street, situated on the south side of town, southwest of Mount Vernon and Southeast Boulevard.
Chase and Capture
Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, law enforcement officers located the suspect, who was believed to be connected to the October 29 shooting. In an attempt to apprehend him, the police initiated a traffic stop. However, the suspect refused to cooperate, resulting in a high-speed pursuit. The pursuit ultimately ended in a crash, forcing the suspect to flee on foot. Thanks to the swift action of the Wichita Police Department, the officers successfully apprehended the suspect and took him into custody.
Minor Injuries in the Crash
During the crash, another vehicle was involved, and its driver sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, immediate medical attention was not required, and the individual is expected to make a full recovery.
