A man named Freddrick Durham from Thomaston, Georgia, was arrested after his girlfriend’s body was found stuffed in a suitcase in their apartment. The gruesome discovery was made by concerned family members who reported Margaret Dubignon missing when she disappeared on October 20. When the police arrived at the apartment to conduct a welfare check, both Dubignon and Durham were missing, as well as Dubignon’s car. Dubignon was entered into the missing persons database, but later that day, family members made a horrifying discovery – Dubignon’s body had been hidden in a suitcase inside a closet. The Upson County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the body found in the suitcase was indeed Dubignon’s. Durham was quickly identified as the prime suspect in her murder. Investigators were able to track Dubignon’s car to Atlanta using traffic cameras, leading to Durham’s arrest. He has been charged with murder, concealing a death, tampering with evidence, and theft of a motor vehicle. Durham is currently being held without bond at the Upson County Jail. The Thomaston Police Department expressed their gratitude towards the various agencies across Georgia who assisted in quickly apprehending the suspect, as well as Dubignon’s family for their cooperation in the investigation. This case bears similarities to another murder that occurred in Florida, where the remains of a woman were dismembered and placed in three suitcases. Her husband was later arrested for her murder. The Thomaston Police Department concluded their statement by expressing their condolences to Dubignon’s family..
