A Chinese businesswoman who was allegedly kidnapped by four Chinese men and two Filipinos was rescued on Tuesday morning by authorities in Panglao, Bohol. The victim, identified as Chen, was last seen on October 18 in Dauis town. The kidnappers brought and detained Chen in Panglao. The police received a report about the possible kidnapping and illegal detention on October 23, prompting them to immediately conduct an investigation and a rescue operation. Four Chinese men and two Filipinos were subsequently arrested. The suspects had obtained ransom money from the victim’s family through a bank transfer. Two firearms and two vehicles, one of which belonged to the victim, were recovered from the suspects. The rescued victim will be reunited with her family. Despite the incident, Colonel Lorenzo Batuan, the provincial police director, assured the public that Bohol remained safe. Governor Aris Aumentado described the incident as an isolated case..
