Revised School Lockdown Update: Pitman High School Briefly Implements Safety Precautions Following Miscommunication
Around 10:30 a.m., a response was initiated by the Turlock Police about a potential burglary at a residence situated in the 2300 block of Tea Rose Street.
The call originated from a security company that detected an activated alarm at the residence. Upon being contacted by the security company, the homeowner expressed concerns about a possible intruder in her kitchen area.
Upon the arrival of police officers at the scene, a thorough inspection of the residence was conducted. There was no evidence of a burglary or unauthorized entry, and the premises seemed adequately secured.
Further communication was established with the homeowner, who denied conversing with the security company and refuted receiving any notification about her alarm system being triggered.
Interestingly, the security company altered their initial account of events and acknowledged that no direct communication had occurred between them and the homeowner.
The exact sequence of events remains somewhat ambiguous. However, a communication breakdown transpired between the homeowner and the security company.
In response to this situation and due to its proximity to the incident, Pitman High School enacted a brief lockdown as a precautionary measure. Swift action was taken to lift the lockdown once confirmation was received that no actual burglary had taken place.
