PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The local community in Pittsfield, Massachusetts is mourning the loss of a native Air Force member who was tragically killed in an Osprey crash near Japan. Jacob “Jake” Galliher, a beloved member of the Pittsfield community, was one of eight crew members on board the Osprey V-22 when it crashed into the ocean during a training mission. His body has been found and identified by officials, making him the only crew member that has been recovered so far.
Galliher’s family has expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support and condolences they have received from friends, community members, and the entire nation. They described Galliher as an amazing father, son, and brother who was dedicated to his family and friends.
