Idaho Baby Found Dead After Amber Alert; Father Arrested
An unfortunate incident unfolded in Idaho Falls, Idaho, as authorities discovered the lifeless body of 10-month-old Zeke Best on Saturday, following the issuance of an Amber Alert for the baby the previous day. The child’s father, Jeremy Albert Best, was apprehended on an arrest warrant related to the suspicious death of his wife.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office revealed that a concerned hunter alerted the police after spotting a man wrapped in a sleeping bag on the side of the road, approximately 24 miles (39 kilometers) east of Idaho Falls. The man was identified as Jeremy Albert Best, the individual sought in the Amber Alert for the alleged kidnapping of his own child in Teton County. Authorities subsequently located Best’s vehicle, which had veered off the road and landed in an embankment. Tragically, they discovered the lifeless body of little Zeke at the scene.
Collaborating with Idaho State Police and the FBI, the local law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this devastating incident. The investigation is ongoing, with the hope of shedding light on the tragic events that unfolded.
Jeremy Albert Best had also been wanted in connection with the death of his wife, Kali Jean Randall. Authorities found Randall’s lifeless body in their Victor residence on Thursday, and the Teton County Sheriff’s Office has classified her death as a homicide.
Best is currently detained in Bonneville County Jail, awaiting his arraignment. It remains uncertain whether a defense attorney has been assigned to his case at this time.
