Kochi police have arrested a man accused of raping a 51-year-old woman. Joshua Michele, a 43-year-old native of Kottayam, had been sexually assaulting and threatening the woman at her flat in Kakkanad. Michele was apprehended in Bengaluru after fleeing. He has been remanded in custody. TNN reported
Kochi: The city police have arrested a 43-year-old man named Joshua Michele, who is accused of raping a 51-year-old woman. Michele, a native of Kottayam, had been repeatedly threatening and sexually assaulting the woman at her flat in Kakkanad. After the incident, Michele fled and was later apprehended by the police in Bengaluru. He was produced before the court and remanded in custody. The investigation into the case was led by Inspector Santhosh PR of the Infopark police station.
In another incident, a 33-year-old man named Rejin Alex from Cherthala, Alappuzha, was arrested by the Kochi city police. Alex had engaged in sexually explicit conversation with a woman at a spa and filmed the conversation, which he later shared on his social media accounts. The incident took place in 2018 at a spa located at High Court Junction.
Furthermore, three men and a woman were apprehended by the police for committing a robbery at a women’s hostel in Kochi. The incident occurred on November 11, around 12pm, when the accused entered the hostel and threatened the residents with weapons to steal their mobile phones and gold. The stolen items included five mobile phones, a gold chain, and a gold ring. The accused individuals were identified as Sejin Pais (21) from Ernakulam Ponekkara, Kayees Majid (35) from Cherthala, Jaison Francis (39) from Idukki Rajakkad, and Manu (30) from Aluva. They were arrested by the Ernakulam town police from Irinjalakuda town.
In recent news, the Calangute police in Goa arrested a man named Omprakash, who was wanted in a Kerala attempted murder case. Omprakash, a resident of Thiruvanathapuram, had been staying at a resort in Calangute. The Goa police apprehended him after receiving information about his whereabouts. He was handed over to the Kerala police and presented before the court before being taken back to Kerala.
Similarly, Delhi Police arrested a man named Mani Kumar, who was accused of a bank robbery in Bihar. Kumar, who had been involved in multiple bank robberies, was working as a security guard at a cafe in Connaught Place, Delhi. He had fled to Nepal after the robbery in Bihar, but was apprehended near the Red Fort parking lot.
