Two additional teenage boys have been taken into custody on Saturday morning in connection with the tragic death of Hailey Stephens, a 17-year-old girl who was shot and killed during a house party in Casa Grande. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to nine, according to the Casa Grande police. The two boys, aged 13 and 15, are now facing first-degree murder charges.
Previously, seven individuals, including six teenagers and an 18-year-old man, had already been arrested in relation to the incident. Among them, at least three were facing murder charges, while the remaining four were charged with criminal trespassing.
The victim, Hailey Stephens, was a student at Casa Grande Union High School. She was shot in the head in the early hours of November 26 while attending a house party at an empty residence. Sadly, she passed away after being hospitalized in critical condition.
In addition to the latest arrests, it is worth noting that three 16-year-olds, two 17-year-olds, and one 15-year-old were believed to be involved in the shooting, although none of them have been publicly identified by the police. All the arrested minors have been booked into the Pinal County Juvenile Detention Center. Jesiah Amaru Street, an 18-year-old, surrendered himself to the police on Wednesday night and was also taken into custody.
