A 29-year-old businessman, identified as Aarshdeep, was shot at by robbers in east Delhi on Saturday. The incident occurred when the robbers attempted to flee with his uncle’s truck. Aarshdeep, who resides in Ghaziabad and is involved in the transport business, was the victim of the attack. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (east), Amrutha Guguloth, received a PCR call about the incident at 1.30 am on Saturday.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the truck belonging to Sarabjeet Singh, the owner, had been stolen from the Patparganj Industrial area. Fortunately, Singh had installed a GPS system on the truck, enabling him to track its location to Madhu Vihar. He immediately called his son and nephew to the spot. After spotting the truck, they began to chase it in an attempt to apprehend the robbers.
The police tried to intercept the suspects near Hasanpur depot, but the robbers opened fire on Aarshdeep and managed to escape, leaving the truck behind. Aarshdeep sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The incident highlights the increasing danger faced by businessmen in the transport industry, as criminals target their valuable assets.
