PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, NJ (Morris County) – A man from Essex County, England is facing multiple charges, including burglary and auto theft, in Parsippany-Troy Hills, according to the local police department.
On November 26th at approximately 6:23 a.m., a resident on Rita Drive reported witnessing a dark saloon car drop off an individual dressed in black. The person was seen attempting to gain entry into various vehicles by pulling on their door handles, as reported by the police.
As the patrol officers initiated a search of the surrounding area for both the suspect and the vehicle, one of the officers noticed a 2022 BMW x7 leaving a driveway on Sedgefield Drive and quickly departing from the vicinity. Additionally, the officer observed a dark-colored Kia, with its headlights turned off, slowly moving away from the residence that the BMW x7 had just left, according to the police.
The officers stopped the Kia and identified the driver as 21-year-old Nacosh Crawford from West Orange. A check of the temporary license plate attached to the vehicle revealed that it had been reported stolen to the Newark Police Department, the police added.
While at the scene, the officers contacted the residents of the house where the BMW x7 had exited. The residents informed the police that their home had been burglarized moments earlier, and the keys to the vehicle, along with the vehicle itself, had been stolen.
Crawford was subsequently arrested and charged with several offenses, including second-degree theft of a motor vehicle, third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary, third-degree exhibiting a false government document, receiving stolen property, having unsealed cannabis in a motor vehicle, failure to inspect a motor vehicle, improper display/unclear number plates, and obstruction of the windshield.
After his initial appearance, Crawford was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility, where he was later released in accordance with bail reform regulations, stated the police.
