The anti-gangster task force (AGTF) and Amritsar police have apprehended two members of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and their associate for their involvement in a recent shooting incident. The anti-gangster task force (AGTF), in collaboration with the Amritsar police, successfully apprehended two members of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and their key associate for their involvement in a recent shooting incident. The incident occurred in Amritsar and left a young man named Neeraj Kumar of Ranjit Avenue injured. Notably, one of the four individuals involved in the shooting, Deepak Arora, had already been arrested by the police.
The Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, provided details about the arrested individuals. Sarthak and Anmol Sharma, both residents of Amritsar, were identified as members of the Bhagwanpuria gang. The third arrested suspect was identified as Alatmis from Khazana Gate in Amritsar. During the operation, the police recovered a car that was in their possession.
DGP Yadav explained that the AGTF, led by AIG Sandeep Goel under the overall supervision of ADGP Promod Ban, conducted the operation based on reliable information. Sarthak and Anmol were arrested in Zirakpur, while Alatmis was apprehended in Samana. AGTF DSP Rajan Parminder provided assistance during the operation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested individuals were also wanted in connection with three previous shooting incidents in Amritsar. They were not only involved in carrying out the shootings but also provided support, including logistics, hideouts, and weapons, to other individuals with criminal backgrounds.
A case had already been registered against the accused under sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act in Amritsar, highlighting the seriousness of their offenses.
Overall, the joint operation between the AGTF and Amritsar police has successfully apprehended key members of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and their associate, who were involved in multiple shooting incidents in Amritsar.
