Comrade N Sankariah, Veteran Leader and Founding Member of CPI(M), Passes Away at 102
Veteran leader Comrade N Sankariah, a freedom fighter and one of the founding leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), passed away this morning at the age of 102. Comrade Sankariah had played a crucial role as the Tamil Nadu state secretary of the CPI(M), as well as the leader of the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS). He was also elected to the state assembly twice.
The news of Comrade Sankariah’s demise was shared by Raghavan JV on Twitter. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (@cpimspeak) and the Tamil Nadu CPI(M) (@tncpim) also tweeted about the loss.
Comrade N Sankariah’s contributions to the CPI(M) and the Indian freedom struggle will always be remembered. His passing marks the end of an era, and he will be deeply missed by his comrades and supporters.
