A suspect was fatally shot by White County Sheriff’s Office deputies after a vehicle chase in Arkansas. The suspect, identified as Curtis Lindsey, fled on foot and threatened to kill the pursuing deputy before being tracked to a home and ultimately shot by the deputies. The suspect, identified as Curtis Lindsey, abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Lindsey then pulled out a gun and threatened to kill the pursuing deputy. The deputy took cover and lost sight of Lindsey. K-9 units from two sheriff’s offices later tracked Lindsey to a home, where authorities attempted to make contact but received no response. After 30 minutes and the introduction of chemical irritants, deputies tried to breach the barricaded front door. Lindsey then approached the door, threatened to kill the deputies, and drew a gun, resulting in the deputies shooting and killing him. Lindsey had warrants in multiple counties. Eventually, Lindsey abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot near the area of Shiloh and Tweedy Road. It was at this point that Lindsey brandished a gun and made threats to kill the pursuing deputy. Fearing for their safety, the deputy took cover and temporarily lost sight of Lindsey. However, K-9 units from two different sheriff’s offices were able to track Lindsey to a residence on Tweedy Road. Despite attempts to communicate with Lindsey, there was no response from inside the home for 30 minutes, even after the introduction of chemical irritants. Deputies then tried to breach the barricaded front door, at which point Lindsey emerged, threatened the deputies, and drew his gun. In response, the deputies fired their weapons, resulting in Lindsey’s death. It was later discovered that Lindsey had outstanding warrants in several counties.
