In Polk County, Florida, a man with a neck tattoo that reads “All gas, no brakes” found himself in trouble with the law. Timothy Allen Hogue, 37, was accused of breaking into cars and attempting to flee from the police. The incident occurred when deputies responded to a report of a man and woman trying to break into vehicles in a neighborhood at around 3:30 a.m.
A deputy spotted Hogue’s car, a white 2006 Cadillac CTS, and attempted to pull him over. However, Hogue refused to stop and instead sped past another deputy. Realizing that he had missed the lone exit for the neighborhood, Hogue tried to drive around a cruiser that had blocked off part of the street. In doing so, he crashed into a parked vehicle at a speed of over 80 mph, resulting in injuries for both Hogue and his accomplice, 31-year-old Rebecca Kozub. Hogue suffered cuts to his head and face, while Kozub suffered a broken leg.
Footage of the crash was captured on video, highlighting the dangerous and reckless actions of the suspects. Further investigation revealed that the duo had broken into at least four vehicles, stealing two purses and a pair of sunglasses. The stolen items, along with 0.22 grams of methamphetamine and 2.55 grams of marijuana, were recovered from their car. Hogue admitted to the burglaries and claimed that it was Kozub’s idea. He also confessed to attempting to break into two other vehicles, one of which triggered a car alarm, prompting the homeowner to call 911.
As a result of their actions, Hogue is facing multiple charges, including burglary, theft, eluding law enforcement, conspiracy to commit burglary, and drug possession. Kozub’s charges are currently pending as she remains in the hospital for treatment. Hogue, on the other hand, is now in custody at the Polk County Jail.
Sheriff Grady Judd expressed his concern over the suspects’ dangerous behavior, stating that fleeing from a law enforcement traffic stop in a residential neighborhood at high speeds is incredibly reckless and could have resulted in innocent lives being lost. He pointed out the irony of Hogue’s neck tattoo, which reads “All gas, no brakes,” emphasizing the poor decision-making demonstrated by the suspect.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving and the potential consequences of engaging in criminal activities. Thankfully, no innocent individuals were harmed during the incident. The authorities are continuing their investigation, ensuring that justice is served..
