High School Recruits Suspected in Theft from Colorado Locker Room During UCLA Football Game
Prospective recruits from Beaumont High School in Riverside County, California, have been identified as suspects in the alleged theft of jewelry and cash from the Colorado locker room during their game against UCLA in late October. According to a report by USA Today, the case has been handed over to the juvenile division of the local district attorney’s office, but no arrests have been made.
The suspects, who have not been named, are high school football players being recruited by UCLA. The theft occurred during UCLA’s 28-16 win over Colorado, when several members of the Buffaloes’ team reported missing cash and jewelry in the post-game locker room.
In response to the incident, the Beaumont Unified School District released a statement expressing disappointment and disheartenment. They emphasized that the alleged actions do not reflect the school’s core values of promoting strong character and integrity. While the suspects were not attending the UCLA-Colorado football game as part of a school-sponsored event, the district is fully cooperating with the Pasadena Police Department’s investigation.
Following the theft, Colorado coach Deion Sanders called for the Rose Bowl to reimburse the players who had their valuables stolen. However, Pasadena Police later announced that some of the stolen items had been returned to the victims.
