Six individuals tragically lost their lives in a collision between their car and a truck on the Delhi-Haridwar national highway. The accident occurred early in the morning, and preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding or driver fatigue may have been the cause. Efforts were made to extract the car from beneath the truck, but all occupants were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Six individuals tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident on the Delhi-Haridwar national highway in Rampurtiraha. The victims, who were from Shahdara in Delhi and Meerut, were on their way to Haridwar when the accident occurred around 4am. It is believed that the accident was caused by overspeeding or the driver falling asleep at the wheel, resulting in their car colliding with a truck from behind. The impact was so severe that the car became wedged beneath the truck.
The authorities, along with the help of local residents and a crane, made efforts to extract the car from beneath the truck. Despite being rushed to the district hospital, all six occupants of the car were declared dead by the doctors. The victims have been identified as Kunal (23), Shivam Tyagi (22), Paras Sharma (18), Dheeraj (22), Vishal (20) from Delhi, and Aman (22) from Meerut, according to the police.
Eyewitness Yogesh Kumar confirmed that the accident took place at around 4am and all six occupants of the car were killed on impact. The truck driver, however, fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle, which has been seized by the police.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination, and the families of the victims have been informed about the tragic accident.
