PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A heartwarming incident unfolded last week as a 92-year-old driver, identified as Larry Hendrickson, was rescued after a harrowing ordeal. Oregon State Police announced on Monday that Hendrickson had fallen down an embankment and spent the night in freezing temperatures before being found.
The police were alerted about the “overdue” driver’s disappearance on November 7 at approximately 3 p.m. Hendrickson was last seen driving west on I-84 near Milepost 283 in Baker County.
After an extensive search, officers discovered an abandoned vehicle the following morning. It was soon revealed that Hendrickson was trapped down an embankment.
