Micah Winslow, a resident of Kalispell, Montana, was arrested on November 12, 2023, following a high-speed chase that occurred in Flathead County. The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident began when they received a call about a man threatening to harm his family and any law enforcement officers who responded to the scene. Winslow, later identified as the suspect, was initially spotted near Three Mile Drive in Kalispell. Deputies attempted to stop him, but he shouted and fled from the officers.
The pursuit involved Montana Highway Patrol troopers and Kalispell police officers, as the chase looped through various areas including Kalispell, Evergreen, and Creston, before circling back to Kalispell. In an effort to halt Winslow’s vehicle, law enforcement officers deployed spike strips and attempted “pit” maneuvers multiple times.
Finally, Winslow abandoned the vehicle on McMannamy Draw, which is located several miles northwest of Kalispell, effectively blocking the road near the residence of the threatened family. Deputies were able to locate Winslow and apprehend him using Tasers. During a subsequent search, a large knife and rifle were discovered and confiscated by the Sheriff’s Office. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the officers or Winslow himself.
Following his arrest, Winslow, who is 37 years old, was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation. He had informed his family that he believed himself to be God and that he intended to harm them. Once cleared from the hospital, he was transferred to the Flathead County Detention Center. He currently faces several pending charges, including criminal endangerment, intimidation, obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and eluding law enforcement. These charges will be further reviewed by the Flathead County Attorney’s Office.
