In Fulton County, Georgia, a recent incident occurred where the Johns Creek police responded to a call regarding a traffic hazard. Upon arrival, they discovered a man sleeping behind the wheel of his SUV with his foot on the brake. To ensure the safety of the situation, officers positioned a patrol car in front of the driver’s vehicle before attempting to wake him.
After knocking loudly on the window for nearly a minute, one of the officers finally managed to awaken the man. However, as he regained consciousness, the SUV slowly started to roll forward as he removed his foot from the brake. Sensing the danger, the officer urgently shouted at him to put his foot back on the brake.
Once the man stepped out of the SUV, he initially denied sleeping in the middle of the road with his car in drive when questioned by the officer. However, the officer pointed out that they found him exactly in that situation. Realizing his mistake, the man quickly changed his response and admitted to sleeping in the middle of the road with his car in drive.
During the incident, the officers also noticed damage near the fenders on the passenger side of the man’s SUV. Despite their observations, the man insisted that the damage had not occurred recently.
