In Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district, a 52-year-old widow and her 20-year-old daughter hanged themselves from the same rope. This tragedy occurred two days after the woman’s son eloped with a local girl. The police believe that the mother and daughter were unable to face their neighbors due to their son’s actions. An investigation is currently underway.
In Wyra town of Khammam district, a 17-year-old student and her 19-year-old boyfriend committed suicide by hanging themselves. The boy had a kidnapping case filed against him by the girl’s family after she went missing. It is suspected that the couple wanted to get married and took this extreme step. No suicide note was found, and the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
These incidents shed light on the alarming rate of suicide by hanging in various parts of India. It is a tragic reminder of the mental health challenges faced by individuals in society. The police and authorities need to address these issues and provide necessary support and resources to prevent such tragic outcomes..
