In Ludhiana, the Sahnewal police have taken legal action against four friends who were involved in a murder attempt. The incident occurred when the group struck a traffic police officer with their SUV on the Ludhiana – Amritsar National Highway near Sahnewal. One of the accused, Kuldeep Singh from Gurugram, was arrested, while the other three, Sumit Kumar, Gaurav Yadav, and Saurav Yadav from Bangalore, managed to flee the scene.
The injured officer, Constable Jasvir Singh, who was part of the Ludhiana police commissionerate’s traffic wing, sustained severe head injuries and was admitted to a private hospital for treatment. According to ASI Jagan Nath’s complaint, the police had signaled for the speeding Creta car to stop, but instead of complying, the car ran over the officer in an attempt to escape.

Mojkar had attempted to stop a Wagan R car for violating traffic rules in Kurla, but the driver refused to comply and instead collided with Mojkar before fleeing the scene. Mojkar suffered a fractured lower hip bone and was taken to Moor Hospital. He filed a police complaint accusing the driver of attempted murder, rash driving, and negligence. In Ludhiana, there was a crossfire between the police and absconding suspects in the kidnapping and ransom case of industrialist Sambhav Jain.
