Additionally, a Cleveland woman was arrested for suspicion of breaking into a house, and a theft from a vehicle was reported in Orangedale Road. Traffic Stop on I-271 North
On November 19 at 11:42 p.m., a patrol officer traveling on the freeway witnessed a southbound Lincoln Continental driving in the wrong direction down the exit ramp from Chagrin Boulevard. The officer successfully stopped the driver, a 43-year-old man from Reynoldsburg. It is unclear from the report whether the driver received a traffic citation, but further investigation may be pending with other law enforcement agencies.
Attempt to Locate, Warrant Served (Felony) on Park Avenue
Flock Safety cameras alerted the police to a passing car registered to a man who had been indicted on multiple first-degree felony counts in October. The police located the car parked outside a Pinecrest bistro on November 19 at 3:15 p.m. The 48-year-old man, who had addresses in Cleveland and Lakewood, was taken into custody. Two days later, he was arraigned in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on charges including burglary, abduction, theft, aggravated theft, assault, and two counts of felonious assault. These charges were filed by Cleveland police following an incident on September 2. The man had a failure to appear warrant issued after he did not attend his initial arraignment on October 30. However, he was eventually released on bond after being arraigned on November 21 and posting a bond set at 10 percent of $10,000 ($1,000).
Suspicion of Breaking and Entering on Jackson Road
On November 25 at 12:20 p.m., the police responded to a house after receiving a report of suspicious activity. Upon investigation, they found evidence suggesting someone had broken into the unoccupied home through a side door, although there were no immediate signs of forced entry. A 39-year-old woman from Cleveland was arrested in connection with the incident. The police were also searching for a 45-year-old Cleveland man who was suspected of involvement in the crime. The charge against them includes entering the home with the intention of committing theft. The report also mentions the presence of witnesses during the crime.
Vandalism and Theft from Auto on Orangedale Road
At 8 a.m. on November 24, the police received a report of a theft from a vehicle. The incident involved a Jeep owned by a man from Hinckley. Stolen items included a $400 purse, a driver’s license, credit card, and green card. The investigation into the theft is ongoing.
Theft (Pickpocketing) on Harvard Road
A report was filed by a Bentleyville woman who discovered that three of her credit cards were missing while at Cooper’s Hawk Winery on November 25 at 4:30 p.m. The police are currently investigating the incident.
