Greenbrier Police Stop Home Invasion Suspect In His Tracks
A Greenbrier family in Tennessee had a frightening experience when they discovered an unknown man inside their home. The incident occurred after multiple reports were received by 911 about a suspicious man in the area of Old Greenbrier Pike. The first call was made around 1 pm, describing a white male wearing a dark-colored jacket running into a shed in a backyard. However, the homeowner lost sight of the suspect.
Meanwhile, the Greenbrier Police were already investigating another call about a suspicious person on Mitchell Street, which is two streets away from the initial sighting. The victim mentioned that a white male with a dark jacket approached his car and tried to open the door. When the suspect noticed the victim inside the car, he quickly fled. Shortly after, a neighbor captured the suspect on video crossing her yard.
Approximately an hour later, another call was received by the police reporting a residential burglary in progress on Lynwood Drive, which is around 0.5 miles from Mitchell Street. Due to their ongoing search for the suspect in the area, the Greenbrier police responded swiftly and found the suspect still inside the targeted home.
The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Charles Mann from White House, was arrested without incident. It was revealed that there were three small children present in the house that Mann allegedly broke into. Mann has now been charged with Aggravated Burglary and Carjacking. He is currently being held at the Robertson County Detention Facility in Springfield, with a bond set at $40,000.
