A South Daytona woman has been arrested and accused of shooting at her lover’s girlfriend and a 1-year-old child. The incident took place at an apartment complex in South Daytona on November 4th. The victim reported seeing a Silver Acura repeatedly driving past her home and decided to investigate further when she found it parked in front of the complex. Moments later, the victim’s boyfriend and the mother of her daughter emerged from an apartment with a woman, later identified as 20-year-old Zehra Percy.
As the victim got out of her car, she heard someone shout that Percy had a gun. In a panic, the victim rushed back to her vehicle. Detectives revealed that Percy had opened the trunk of the Acura, retrieved a firearm, and began firing at the victim and her car, where the 1-year-old child was seated.
Witnesses corroborated the victim’s account, stating that they had witnessed an argument between two women before one of them retrieved a gun from her car and fired two shots at the other woman. Through their investigation, authorities discovered that Percy was the “mistress” of the victim’s boyfriend.
On Friday, police located Percy during a routine traffic stop and took her into custody. However, when officers requested permission to search her vehicle for the firearm, Percy claimed that she had already returned it to her “sugar daddy.” She now faces a charge of shooting into a vehicle.
Percy was released on Friday night after posting a $5,000 bond. The investigation into the incident is ongoing..
