Ohio Man Charged with Rape in Wayne County
A Level 3 felony charge of rape has been filed against Lars Steven Nelson, a 21-year-old man from Greenville, Ohio, in Wayne County. If convicted, he could face up to 16 years in prison. Nelson was arrested on November 9 and is currently being held in Wayne County jail on a $25,000 bond. The court documents containing the details of the allegations against him are currently sealed. However, according to computerized court records, the sexual assault is reported to have occurred on October 31. An initial hearing for the case is scheduled for Wednesday.
Sexual Battery Charge against Greenwood Man
Sharan Sandhu, a 23-year-old man from Greenwood, is facing a Level 6 felony charge of sexual battery in Wayne County Superior Court 1. If found guilty, he could be sentenced to up to 30 months in prison. Sandhu, who worked at the Sinclair truck stop in Cambridge City, is accused of fondling a female customer. The incident allegedly took place on July 29 when the victim and her juvenile daughter stopped at the truck stop. Sandhu, identified as the clerk, allegedly made the victim uncomfortable by giving her strange vibes and staring at her. Later, he approached her outside the business, asked about her marital status, and even proposed to her. The victim claimed that Sandhu persistently asked her to kiss him and eventually fondled her.
During questioning by a deputy, Sandhu admitted to hugging the victim but denied any wrongdoing. He expressed his desire to apologize if he had offended her. The felony charge was filed against Sandhu on November 6.
