Tibba police in Ludhiana have registered a case against a man who allegedly raped his fianceé and filmed the act. In Ludhiana, the Tibba police have taken legal action against a man who allegedly raped his 19-year-old fiancée and recorded the assault. The engagement was later called off by the accused. The victim’s family arranged for her to marry someone else, but the accused sent the video to the groom just days before the wedding, resulting in the cancellation of the marriage.
The accused has been charged under sections 376 (rape), 500 (punishment for defamation), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, and the IT Act. Both the accused and the victim reside in the same locality.
According to the victim, on June 10, 2022, she got engaged to the accused. On April 19 of this year, while she was at the market, the accused took her to a house where he allegedly forced her into a physical relationship. He also filmed the act and warned her not to tell anyone. Subsequently, on April 20 and April 26, the accused raped her two more times. Later, he refused to marry her. The victim wanted to inform her family but was too afraid because the accused still possessed the incriminating videos. She was supposed to marry another person on November 7, but the accused sent the video to her fiancé, resulting in the cancellation of the wedding.
Inspector Lovedeep Singh stated that the girl filed a complaint with the police on November 11, leading to the registration of a case against the accused. He will soon be arrested.
