Authorities in Toronto have released images of a suspect vehicle following a tragic hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a homeless man in downtown Toronto on Tuesday morning. The Toronto Police Service (TPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver responsible for this heinous crime.
Details of the Incident
The victim, a 57-year-old man, was struck by a dark-coloured SUV at approximately 6:45 a.m. The vehicle had mounted the curb on the east side of Scott Street, near Wellington Street East. TPS Inspector Jeff Banglid revealed during a press conference that the victim was dragged for a short distance before being left at the scene, as the heartless driver fled.
Fatal Injuries and Victim’s Identity
Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. At this time, the identity of the homeless man is being withheld by the police.
Description of the Suspect Vehicle
The suspect vehicle, believed to be a Ford Expedition, hastily fled the scene heading northbound on Scott Street. Police have released images of the SUV in an effort to locate the driver and bring them to justice.
