Clovis Woman Arrested for Pepper-Spraying and Hitting Victim with Car
A 23-year-old woman from Clovis, identified as Courtney Linder, was arrested by the Clovis Police Department after allegedly pepper-spraying a man and a woman and then driving into the woman she had just pepper-sprayed before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred near Old Town Clovis at the intersection of Minnewawa and 9th on Tuesday at approximately 4 p.m.
According to witnesses, Linder was driving a white Camaro when she hit the woman in the roadway. She then left the scene. However, she was located and arrested shortly after the incident.
Prior to the collision, an argument had taken place near an apartment involving Linder and her neighbors. During the altercation, Linder used pepper spray on both the man and woman involved. Instead of driving away from the scene, Linder made a U-turn and drove back towards the woman she had just pepper-sprayed. Witnesses reported that she accelerated and swerved, striking the woman with her car at a high rate of speed before fleeing.
The female victim, whose identity has not been disclosed by the police, sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital. Fortunately, she is currently in stable condition.
Courtney Linder has been taken into custody and is being held at Fresno County Jail. She is facing charges of attempted homicide, as stated by the officers.
