A Rainelle man, Michael S. Gray, has been charged with a felony offense in Fayette County after an overdose incident resulted in a death. Gray is accused of not rendering aid while engaging in the illegal use of controlled substances. He is currently awaiting court proceedings at the Southern Regional Jail. Rainelle Man Faces Serious Charges in Fayette County
A 42-year-old man from Rainelle, identified as Michael S. Gray, is currently facing severe felony charges in Fayette County, West Virginia. This follows an incident that took place on October 15, 2023, where deputies responded to an overdose in the Lookout area. Despite the efforts of the responding EMS personnel who administered life-saving measures, tragically, the victim did not survive.
During the investigation, witnesses provided statements indicating that they had seen a man leaving the house shortly before the victim was discovered. Detectives, upon receiving this information, located the individual in question, who was later identified as Michael S. Gray. Gray was interviewed by the detectives, during which he admitted to using narcotics with the victim. However, he insisted that the victim was still alive when he departed.
Michael S. Gray, aged 42 and a resident of Rainelle, now faces a felony charge for Death Resulting from Failure to Render Aid While Engaging in the Illegal Use of Controlled Substances. Gray is currently being held at the Southern Regional Jail, awaiting further court proceedings.
