A man in Stinesville, Indiana, is being sought by Bloomington police after allegedly shooting his neighbor in the buttocks during an altercation. The victim tried to spray the suspect with pepper spray, but it didn’t work. The suspect, identified as 64-year-old Bret Sherrow, is still at large and considered armed and dangerous. The victim recounted to authorities that he was fleeing from the suspect when he was shot in the buttocks. The incident took place in Stinesville, Indiana, and the Bloomington police are currently searching for the suspect. On November 3, in the early hours of the morning, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the IU Health Bloomington Police Department regarding a man who had arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound.
According to the victim and a witness who had driven him to the hospital, they were at the victim’s property in Stinesville gathering some items when the neighbor, who was known to the victim, entered the property. At one point, the victim noticed the suspect taking out a gun and placing it in his pocket. The victim reported that the suspect began pushing him, prompting him to retrieve pepper spray from his pocket in an attempt to defend himself. However, the pepper spray failed to deter the suspect. Realizing that the suspect was reaching for the gun, the victim quickly started running away. Unfortunately, he heard a gunshot and felt the impact in his buttocks.
Despite efforts to locate the suspect, the police have been unsuccessful thus far. The suspect has been identified as 64-year-old Bret Sherrow. Authorities warn the public not to approach him, as he could be armed and dangerous.
