A 20-year-old man from Carmel, Indiana, named Johnathan Quatroche, was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing a woman’s rabbit and threatening her afterwards. The incident occurred in an apartment in northwest Muncie, where police were called to respond to a domestic disturbance. The woman informed the police that Quatroche had confessed to killing her rabbit, although he initially claimed it was an accident. However, he later told the woman that he had intentionally killed the rabbit. Court documents reveal that Quatroche made a chilling statement to the woman, saying, “she had to go and you’re next.”
The following morning, officers discovered the dead rabbit in a dumpster outside the apartment. Its head had been brutally smashed and was covered in blood. Quatroche was later located in his dorm room at Ball State University around 1:30 a.m. The police read him his Miranda Rights, and he responded by stating that he did not want to speak with them and invoked his right to remain silent.
This shocking incident highlights the cruel and violent actions of Quatroche towards an innocent animal, causing distress and fear to the woman involved. The deliberate nature of the rabbit’s killing raises concerns about Quatroche’s mindset and potential threat to others. The investigation will continue to uncover any underlying motives or psychological factors that may have contributed to this disturbing act..
