A man in Bartholomew County, Indiana, was arrested for pointing a gun at his neighbor. Joshua Woodruff, 46, accused his neighbor of theft and displayed a handgun. Woodruff was taken into custody, and a search of his residence uncovered firearms, methamphetamine, and narcotics paraphernalia. In Elizabethtown, Indiana, a man from Bartholomew County was arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at his neighbor. The incident occurred in the 300 block of 5th Street early on Friday morning and was reported as a suspicious person. According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, the male suspect approached the complainant, brandished a handgun, and accused them of theft.
The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Joshua Woodruff, believed that the complainant had stolen items from him and hidden them in a car trunk. After the altercation, Woodruff returned to his nearby residence, where he was later found by the deputies. It was reported that he shouted at the police officers upon their arrival.
Following Woodruff’s arrest, a search warrant was executed at his residence. The authorities discovered seven firearms, methamphetamine, and narcotics paraphernalia inside the house. The firearms and the recovered items were documented by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office.
The residence where the incident took place was officially listed under the name of Nicole Woodruff. After the search of the home, Nicole Woodruff was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
Joshua Woodruff has been preliminarily charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, as well as possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Possession of methamphetamine is considered a Level 4 Felony in Indiana, which carries a maximum penalty of a 12-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,000.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office has reported that Nicole Woodruff has been released from police custody. However, Joshua Woodruff is still being held by the authorities..
