SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On the 12th of November 2023 at approximately 0002 hours, the Vermont State Police conducted a traffic stop after observing a motor vehicle violation on US Route 7 near the intersection of Vermont Route 17 in the Town of New Haven. The driver was identified as Clyde S. Bovat, a 74-year-old resident of St. George, VT. During the stop, troopers noticed signs of drug activity and discovered evidence of cocaine possession on Bovat’s person and in the vehicle he was operating.
Further investigation revealed that Bovat’s driver’s license was criminally suspended. He was taken to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing and later released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.
