Two 18-year-old teenagers, Martin Eusebio and Vivian Martinez, were arrested by the Garden Grove Police Department after allegedly committing a robbery and leading officers on a high-speed pursuit in Garden Grove on Friday night. The incident began when officers received calls of an armed robbery near the area of Brookhurst Street and Westminster Avenue around 6:40 p.m. The victim reported that she was sitting in a parking lot with a friend when Eusebio and Martinez approached them with a handgun. The suspects threatened to shoot the victim before taking off with approximately $200 in cash. They fled the scene in a vehicle, which was later spotted by officers.
Authorities attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the teenagers refused to stop, resulting in a chase. During the pursuit, the suspects drove at high speeds and eventually lost control of the vehicle near Harbor Boulevard and Westminster Avenue, crashing into a flower shop at the corner. The collision caused an injury to a worker at the flower shop.
Eusebio immediately fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended and arrested. Martinez, on the other hand, was detained at the crash site. The police also found a handgun allegedly used in the robbery. The injured flower shop worker was transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Both Eusebio and Martinez were booked at Orange County Jail on multiple felony charges. The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Staal at 714-741-5884 or the Gang Suppression Unit Tip Line at 714-741-5860.
