Ludhiana Rural police have apprehended two individuals, a man named Parminder Singh Happy from Changna village and a woman named Gurpreet Kaur from Waraich village, for their involvement in drug trafficking. During the arrest, the police seized a total of 1,062 intoxicating tablets from the accused. The police received a tip-off about the duo’s illegal activities in smuggling intoxicating tablets and selling them to buyers in Waraich village. Acting on this information, a team of Dakha police conducted a raid in Mullanpur grain market and successfully arrested the suspects, confiscating the contraband in the process.
Both Parminder Singh Happy and Gurpreet Kaur have a criminal record, with a total of 11 cases registered against them, most of which are related to drug peddling. Despite being previously incarcerated, the accused resumed their drug business upon release. It is worth noting that both individuals are also addicted to drugs themselves.
The police intend to seek a police remand from the court in order to further interrogate the accused and uncover any potential connections they may have. This step is crucial in dismantling the drug network and bringing other involved individuals to justice.
