Police in DeKalb County have made an announcement stating that they have successfully apprehended a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at the end of October. The incident took place on Atlanta Avenue in Decatur, where officers responded to a call reporting a shooting before midnight on October 24. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Perry Riley, a 53-year-old resident of Atlanta, was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, Riley succumbed to his injuries. Following their investigation, the police identified David Denson, a 41-year-old Atlanta resident, as the sole suspect in the case. On November 9, Denson was arrested and now faces a felony murder charge. Jail records indicate that he is currently being held in custody without bond.
