The incident took place on Thursday, November 9, at around 9:15 p.m. The crash happened on Windsor Boulevard, just west of the Winston Drive intersection. The driver of a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer, identified as Leslie Paul-Moore Turner, was traveling eastbound on Windsor Boulevard when his vehicle suddenly broke down. Before exiting the vehicle, Turner searched for his emergency triangles. However, during this time, a second tractor-trailer, a 2016 International, collided with his stationary vehicle from behind.
The collision caused significant damage to both vehicles involved. The Virginia State Police have shared images of the aftermath, showing the extent of the impact. The driver of the second tractor-trailer, George Herbert Brown, was transporting an enclosed trailer filled with water bottles at the time of the crash. Fortunately, Brown sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Norfolk Sentara General for medical treatment.
