On October 28, 2023, at 12:28 PM, Deputy Morgan of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a trespass complaint on Holley Road in New Vineyard. Later that day, at 2:06 PM, Deputy Morgan received another complaint of hunters trespassing off Pope Road in Chesterville. The Warden service was notified to handle the situation. At 2:34 PM, Deputy Morgan received a request to conduct a welfare check at a residence on Lucy Knowles Road in Chesterville. Fortunately, the person in question was found to be okay.
At 2:59 PM, Detective Richards received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle and its occupants on Route 4 in Avon. This prompted further investigation. Following that, at 3:04 PM, Deputy Elmes received a complaint of gunshots near a residence on Main Street in Rangeley. The deputy looked into the matter to ensure the safety of the area.
At 3:23 PM, Deputy Morgan investigated what initially seemed to be a civil issue but turned out to be a personal property dispute at a residence on Stewart Drive in Strong. The deputy took the necessary steps to resolve the issue. Later in the evening, at 5:01 PM, Detective Davol participated in a Trunk or Treat event in Kingfield, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for the community. Similarly, at 5:17 PM, Deputy Elmes joined a Trunk or Treat event in Rangeley, spreading Halloween spirit.
As the day progressed, at 10:26 PM, Sergeant Sholan received a complaint of a car being driven erratically on Mile Hill Road in New Sharon. The sergeant promptly addressed the situation to maintain road safety. At 11:58 PM, Sergeant Bean assisted the State Police in searching for suspects involved in a domestic disturbance in Readfield, suspected to be in southern Franklin County. Despite their efforts, the suspect was not found.
On October 29, 2023, at 5:07 AM, Deputy Morgan, Deputy DiSilvestro, Deputy Gray, and Lieutenant St. Laurent responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Bailey Hill Road in New Sharon. The investigation led to the arrest of Joshua Allen (39) for Domestic Violence Assault, Domestic Violence Threatening, and Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention. Additionally, during a follow-up investigation, Jeffrey Davis (36) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Schedule Drugs.
Later that morning, at 5:34 AM, Deputy Morgan received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle at the boat launch on Varnum Pond Road in Temple. The deputy assessed the situation to ensure public safety. At 11:32 AM, Deputy Gray investigated a report of theft of services at the Town and Lake Motel in Rangeley, although there was insufficient evidence to support the allegation.

On October 31, 2023, Deputy Couture received an accidental 911 call at a residence on Zions Hill Road in Chesterville. Additionally, the deputy responded to a complaint of a truck hauling dirt on Route 27 in New Vineyard with an unsecured load. The driver was charged accordingly to maintain road safety.
Later that day, Sergeant Close responded to a car versus deer accident on the Mercer Road in New Sharon. Furthermore, the sergeant addressed a report of a suicidal person at a residence on Lucy Knowles Road in Chesterville. The individual was transported to FMH for evaluation.
On November 1, 2023, Deputy Couture responded to a report of a suspicious male sitting in a ditch on Swan Road in New Sharon. However, the person had left the area upon the deputy’s arrival. Additionally, the deputy investigated a complaint of fraudulent checks being written on Norton Hill Road in Strong.
