Two occultists were apprehended in Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh, after allegedly murdering a man in order to assist him in accumulating more wealth. The victim, a 22-year-old individual named Ankit Kaurav, was discovered with a disfigured body in a field on November 4. His head and neck exhibited cuts caused by a sharp object.
In addition to the gruesome act, the accused managed to convince Ankit to amputate the middle finger of his right hand, promising him that it would bring about financial prosperity. The two occultists, identified as 40-year-old Surendra Kachi and 45-year-old Rammu Kachi, were apprehended following the formation of a specialized team led by SP Amit Kumar.
During the investigation, it was revealed that on the night of the incident, the victim was observed riding a motorcycle with the perpetrators. Ankit had sought the aid of the occultists approximately four months prior when he had fallen ill. Despite consulting with doctors, it was only after the intervention of the occultists that he experienced recovery.
Due to this prior positive experience, Ankit placed his trust in the accused once again. Approximately 15 days ago, when his brother-in-law fell ill, the financial burden of the medical expenses began to strain his family’s finances. This prompted the 22-year-old to reach out to the occultists once more, expressing his desire for increased wealth.
The occultists agreed to his request and managed to persuade Ankit to amputate his middle finger. They then accompanied him to Tekapar village, where they planned to carry out his “narbali” or human sacrifice. Ankit was administered sleeping pills and subsequently murdered by the occultists.
The accused were presented before a court and have since been remanded to jail. Ongoing investigations are being conducted to further delve into the details of the case. This report includes information sourced from Anuj Mamar..
