A 40-year-old man, James Davis, is facing charges after threatening to kill an officer in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Davis was chasing a woman who claimed he threatened her with a gun over alleged owed money. Davis was arrested and found in possession of a stolen gun and suspected cocaine. KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY: Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill Officer While Chasing Woman
In a disturbing incident, a man from Luzerne County, identified as 40-year-old James Davis, has been apprehended by the Kingston Police Department for threatening to kill an officer while in pursuit of a woman. The incident unfolded on Main Street when an Edwardsville officer was approached by a distressed woman who was being chased by Davis.
According to the victim, Davis had barged into her apartment and brandished a firearm, claiming she owed him money. The officer attempted to engage Davis in conversation, but he quickly walked away, showing clear signs of aggression.
Police intervened and tried to restrain Davis, but he drew a loaded 9mm handgun and made explicit threats to kill the officer, as detailed in the affidavit. A physical altercation ensued between Davis and the officer, leading to Davis’s eventual arrest when additional law enforcement units arrived at the scene.
Further investigation revealed that the recovered firearm had been reported stolen from Wilkes-Barre. Additionally, Davis was found in possession of a bag containing suspected cocaine, according to court documents.
Davis is now facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, illegally carrying a firearm without a license, possessing stolen property, and recklessly endangering another person.
Due to the severity of his actions and the potential danger he poses to society, Davis is being held without bail at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
