The FBI is offering a reward of $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of Gregory Yetman, a New Jersey man wanted in connection with the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to authorities.
The FBI’s Newark SWAT team is actively searching for Yetman in Helmetta, a borough located in Middlesex County. Several law enforcement agencies, including the Jamesburg Police Department, New Jersey State Police, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, are collaborating on the search.
Yetman has been charged with multiple offenses related to the January 6 attack, including assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers; obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder; entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds; and acting violently in the Capitol Grounds or Buildings. A federal arrest warrant was issued for him on Monday in the D.C. District Court.
The FBI has released a photo allegedly showing Yetman at the Capitol Building on January 6, further implicating him in the attack.
At the time of the Capitol attack, Yetman was serving as a military police sergeant in the New Jersey Army National Guard. He had been a member of the guard for approximately 12 years and was honorably discharged in March 2022.
In light of the ongoing search, the FBI has warned residents of Helmatta to expect an increased law enforcement presence in the area. Helmetta Mayor Christopher Slavicek has urged residents to exercise caution and comply with police orders for the safety of all.
According to the Department of Justice, over 1,202 individuals have been charged in connection with the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
