Fortunately, Carver received medical treatment and was released from the hospital later that same night. Law enforcement personnel attempted to resolve the situation through various means, including verbal negotiations, the use of chemical irritants, and other strategies aimed at securing the residence safely.
Around 1 a.m., the SWAT team made the decision to enter the house. Inside, they discovered Davis with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, clutching a handgun. Davis was promptly transported to the hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival. Importantly, the report states that there is no evidence indicating that any law enforcement officer discharged their firearm throughout the entire duration of the standoff.
