A man, identified as Deepak alias Chotu, was arrested in Ghaziabad on Tuesday for allegedly murdering his friend, Satendra Kumar. The incident occurred during a party in the Wave City area when the two men got into a heated argument over a derogatory remark made by Kumar about Deepak’s wife. Both men were intoxicated at the time. Deepak slit Kumar’s throat with a sharp object, resulting in his death.
Kumar’s father lodged a missing complaint on Tuesday when his son failed to return home the previous night. The police discovered Kumar’s body at Deepak’s house, although the accused had already fled. Acting swiftly, the police formed two teams and apprehended Deepak in the Wave City area within three hours.
During interrogation, Deepak, who worked in a private company, admitted that he and Kumar were drinking at his house when his wife arrived with snacks. However, the situation escalated when Kumar made an objectionable comment about Deepak’s wife, leading to a heated argument and ultimately the murder.
Deepak has been charged under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code..
