The ex-boyfriend of a woman in Florida allegedly shot her in the parking lot of her apartment complex while her horrified family members listened on the phone. The victim had just returned from filing a police report against him for harassment.
Police in Boynton Beach responded to a call about a woman being shot at the Meadows on the Green apartment complex. Witnesses reported seeing a black Honda leaving the area. When officers arrived, they found the woman, Fridelene Daniel, dead in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. Shell casings were found nearby.
A probable cause affidavit revealed that Daniel had filed a complaint about her ex-boyfriend, Robens Cesar, just 40 minutes before the shooting. Surveillance footage showed Cesar wearing specific clothing and driving a black Honda, matching the description of the suspect seen leaving the scene. Police located and arrested Cesar at a nearby home.
During an interview with detectives, Cesar allegedly confessed to shooting Daniel. He admitted that they had broken up and he was trying to reconcile, but she refused. He claimed that seeing her with another man and her report to the police were the reasons he shot her.
Family members of Daniel recounted a terrifying account of the shooting. They stated that she was on the phone with a family member in Haiti when she arrived at her apartment and questioned someone about bringing a gun to kill her. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots.
Cesar is currently held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail, facing a first-degree murder charge.
