State police officers at Frackville have successfully obtained arrest warrants for two individuals from Berks County who were involved in an armed robbery that took place on June 5th at a convenience store in Schuylkill County.
Luke P. Boyer, aged 39, residing in Reading, and Darren M. Fiske, aged 43, residing in Temple, are now facing serious charges including robbery, conspiracy, and theft, all of which are categorized as felonies.
The two men were identified as the main suspects in the robbery that occurred at the New Ringgold Market in New Ringgold. Another individual, Brandon S. Herb, aged 34, from Coal Township in Schuylkill County, was arrested and detained in June on felony charges in connection with this incident.
The charges against Boyer and Fiske were filed by Trooper Nicholas J. Reese of the Frackville state police station.
According to the information provided by the troopers:
During the early hours of June 5th, Herb and Boyer entered the store while wearing masks and hoods. They brandished handguns and forcefully stole an estimated amount of $5,000 to $6,000 from the business.
While Herb pointed a Taser at one of the cashiers, he proceeded to take several storage safes and cash registers from beneath the counter. He then handed these items to Boyer, who subsequently exited the store and got into a vehicle that was being driven by Fiske.
After Herb took additional money from the cash register, the three individuals swiftly fled the scene and drove west on Route 895.
Herb later confessed to the police that they had gone to Boyer’s residence, where they distributed the stolen money among themselves.
In an interview conducted on June 20th with the state police in Reading, Fiske admitted that he was the driver of Boyer’s vehicle during the robbery.
In addition to the aforementioned charges, Boyer is also facing misdemeanor counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment, and possessing an instrument of crime.
Online records indicate that both Boyer and Fiske are currently evading arrest.
Herb was arraigned on June 21st and has since been incarcerated at Schuylkill County Prison, where he remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail.
