The search for a Columbia teenager wanted on murder charges has come to an end, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Eighteen-year-old Ty’Quan McClinton was arrested on Thursday morning in the 7400 block of Hunt Club Road in Columbia. This arrest comes after a month-long manhunt for McClinton, who was suspected of being involved in a drive-by shooting that resulted in the deaths of two men attending a party on Shakespeare Road in Columbia. Deputies responded to the shooting on September 11th and found two unresponsive men lying on the sidewalk. Despite efforts to save them, both men died. The victims were identified as Joshua J. Jackson, a 34-year-old resident of Conway, and Eddie A. Boyd, a 40-year-old resident of Sumter. McClinton has also been charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime related to another shooting on September 11th, where two South Carolina men died. He is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, with no bond set. McClinton is scheduled to appear in court on January 26, 2024, to face murder and weapons charges. Sheriff Leon Lott expressed his sadness over the situation, stating that young people need to recognize the consequences of their actions when they resort to gun violence..
